De Quinta Essentia is a medieval alchemical treatise attributed to Jean de Roquetaillade (Johannes de Rupescissa), a Franciscan author associated with the development of quintessence theory in fourteenth-century Europe.
Book II continues the discussion of the quintessence and its place in historical alchemical medicine, including ways in which alchemists understood preparations of natural substances and their properties. These are historical beliefs and practices, not modern medical recommendations.
This digital edition forms the second part of the two-book work and is credited to Jean de Roquetaillade and Templum Dianae Media.
